TERMINATIONS

Have you been terminated from your position?
If so, you may have certain rights under an applicable Severance Policy offered by your employer. Or, you may have an Employment Agreement that provides for certain severance and related benefits in the event of a termination. Oftentimes, attorney led negotiations during these difficult times ensure that your interests are protected.

Alternatively, you may have certain rights to challenge your termination through an employer’s grievance procedure or a collective bargaining agreement.

Do you feel that you were treated differently than your co-workers, based on your gender, sexual harassment, disability, age, race, color or other inappropriate basis?

Have you recently taken a leave of absence (paid or unpaid) that may be protected by the Family and Medical Leave Act?

Has your employer offered you a Severance or Separation Agreement as a result of your termination? Typically these Agreements require your waiver of important legal rights. Is the Agreement, as written, fair, given your facts and circumstances?

These and many other questions may arise when you have been terminated from your employment.
